FLASHBACK TO 23 OCTOBER 2013

Today we reached a big milestone.  After 3 years of paperwork, we have secured the funding package we need to restore the Great Polish Map of Scotland and to use the map to promote the heritage links between Scotland and Poland.

Our major grant providers are as follows:

·        The Heritage Lottery Fund.

·        BCCF Environmental, Landfill Communities Fund (ENTRUST).

·        Scottish Borders Community Grant Scheme.

·        Scottish Borders Council Leader Fund.

·        Barony Castle LLP.

·        Polish Consulate, Edinburgh.

In addition generous donations and membership subscriptions provide further valuable support.  Historic Scotland, Local MPs, MSPs, Borders Council, Barony Castle Hotel, Polish Consul General in Edinburgh and local communities have also provided immense support.

The next big challenge is to recruit the restoration team, procure the equipment we need, and make a real start to the restoration work on site.

We couldn’t have reached this point without the further support and efforts of all our members and well wishers.

Thank you all from the Mapa Scotland Steering Group!

For Mapa Scotland  (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
